Dean.site owner:  Cheers Gail i'll add your name to the picture.Do you want a copy of pictures.
Gail Mackintosh: Hi Dean, I was the other carnival maid of honour with Joy and Susan in 1970, My maiden name was Wilson.   My Mothers family lived in The Croft, and I have a photo of my mother Jane Fowkes in The Croft from about 1930
Dean Site Owner: Andrew..email me and i'll send them to you
Andrew Sargent: Cheers Dean, i'd love to see those pics. My grandmother Phyllis was heavily involved in the goings on at the church. She was in the mothers union, and produced some lovely flower arrangements. They lived in the old police house on Bedworth road, on retiring Bill and Phyllis moved to Leyland road when that estate was built.
Dean Site owner: Andrew yes I remember him and his wife I have several old pics of them at old church events
Andrew Sargent: My Grandfather was the village bobby in Bulkington up til the mid sixties. He went on to do a stint as caretaker at St James Middle School. Many of the older folks still remember him on his old police bike. His name was Bill Brumfield. He wasn't from Warwickshire originally, he came down from Lincolnshire where his family had a large farm on the fens. I lived in Bulkington for years, but the folks i knew have all but disappeared. My mother and father still live there.
Dean site owner: J O'leary ... I have pics of old farm houses in Ryton as I used to live in Long St,Wolvey Road was closed for a time around 1977 when the M69   was being built
J. OLeary: Very interesting, my mothers family used to live in Ryton and I have photos of their old farmhouse. I also remember when the Wolvey road was closed for a good few years. That was when Bramcote was an active airfield
Lorraine: I have just found out that my gtrandparents married at St. James church in 1919 and have visited it today. They lived at The Lodge, gatehouse to Bramcote hospital when my da was born. Hope to visit Builkington again when I have done more research. Love the old pics on your site.
